How it works

Paste a YouTube, TikTok, Instagram Reel, or podcast URL, or upload an audio/video file (MP3, MP4, WAV, M4A, MOV). sipsip first checks for existing subtitles via yt-dlp; if none exist, it downloads the audio and runs it through OpenAI Whisper for speech-to-text. The transcript is then polished and summarized by an LLM, with speaker diarization for multi-speaker recordings. The chunk-and-merge pipeline processes the full audio, so even hour-long podcasts are covered without truncation.
